Postponed to allow preparations for the General Election

Dodoma

The Ministry of Minerals has announced the rescheduling of the 7th International Mining Investment Conference, which was originally planned for November 2025. The conference will now take place from 19th to 21st November 2026 at the Julius Nyerere International Convention Centre (JNICC) in Dar es Salaam.

In a statement issued by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Minerals, Eng. Yahya Samamba, the postponement was attributed to the need to allow for preparations for the country’s General Election, scheduled for the end of October 2025.

“The Ministry of Minerals sincerely apologizes to all local and international stakeholders who were expecting to participate in the International Mining Investment Conference scheduled for November 2025,” the statement read.

Since its inception in 2019, the International Mining Investment Conference has been held annually under different themes, serving as a platform for dialogue on the future of the mining sector, knowledge exchange, and showcasing emerging opportunities in Tanzania’s mineral industry.

The conference also provides a space to strengthen the investment climate, attract new investments both locally and internationally, and enable stakeholders to learn about new government policies, laws, and strategies, while jointly addressing legal and economic issues related to the sector.

In addition, the Mining Gala Night, which accompanies the conference, recognizes outstanding stakeholders in the sector through various awards—symbolizing appreciation for their contribution to Tanzania’s mining industry.

The conference brings together diverse groups including African Ministers of Mining, chief executives of major global mining companies operating in Tanzania, researchers, ambassadors representing their countries locally and abroad, and international organizations.

Other participants include artisanal and large-scale miners, mineral traders, financial institutions, universities and colleges, public institutions, private sector players in mining, and leaders from ministries, government agencies, regions, and councils where mining activities take place.
